Mittagong is the gateway to the Southern Highlands when travelling from Sydney. This majestic tree lined town invites visitors to explore its history, scenery, shopping, dining, wineries, bushwalks, or to drive in and around it's rural fringes to view the grand country houses and estates.
Tourists can picnic at Lake Alexandra and feed the ducks, or take a peaceful stroll around the lake located within 250 metres from Mittagong's main street. Large grand properties dot the rural fringes
Mittagong is similar to Bowral but a little quieter and it's main street also boasts a wide array of trendy cafés, restaurants, boutique retailers and numerous antique shops. A few kilometres to the north of Mittagong lie the residential villages of Colo Vale, Hill Top, and Yerrinbool.
