Local rivers and dams are stocked with both trout and bass providing exciting
opportunities to try and catch a fish for dinner.
Fitzroy Falls Dam is a picturesque lake located about 20 minutes from
Bowral and is an absolute enchanting location to perfect the art of fly
fishing or to employ the old worm and lure. Go out in the early morning
and see the mist rolling over the hills and along the lake for a scene
you will never forget.
The Wingecarribee River which flows endlessly through the Southern Highlands
was stocked a few years ago with trout and bass.
Welby Weir is a small body of water which contains rainbow trout but which
are a challange sometimes to catch.
There are also secret creeks and small rivers around the region which
contain trout. I don't even know where they are but I know they are there,
somewhere. It's up to you to find them.
